The One File Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

The One File hosting on xCloud lets you deploy The One File, a self-hosted network diagram and topology editor, as live rooms that several people edit together, on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned official image with one SQLite volume, creates the first administrator from your email and a generated password, and publishes it over HTTPS. The instance is open by default, so lock it down in the admin panel.

What is The One File?

The One File is a self-contained visual planning tool for networks, smart homes, sports plays, mind maps, infrastructure and anything else with nodes and connections. It draws server, router, switch and firewall nodes with editable name, IP, role and notes, rack nodes with U positions, smart-routed links and layers for physical, logical, security and application views, with recording and replay and optional AES-256-GCM encryption. TheOneFile_Verse wraps it for real-time multi-user collaboration, giving you collaborative network diagrams on your own server. A self-hosted The One File keeps those rooms private to you. It is under the Unlicense.

On xCloud it is TheOneFile_Verse TOFV-2.0, the official image pinned by digest, as one container with a single SQLite database in the the_one_file_data volume. No Redis runs. The administrator is created at first start, and a generated encryption key protects stored two-factor, single sign-on and mail secrets. Anyone with a room link can view and edit that room.

From Sign-Up to a Live Diagram Room In Just 3 Easy Steps

A self-hosted diagram server normally means a container, a data volume, an admin bootstrap, a domain and a certificate before the first node is drawn. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick The One File from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter the Administrator email — it is the only field.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official The One File image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with its embedded SQLite database — nothing else runs beside it. The the_one_file_data volume is mounted, the Administrator Password and Encryption Key are generated, and the site is published over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

Sign In And Open A Room

Open your HTTPS site, then sign in at the Admin Panel address with the Administrator email and the generated password from the credentials card. Change that password inside the app, then create your first room and share its link.

Everything The One File Does, On Your Own Server

The One File runs in full here: a network topology editor with live rooms on your own domain, backed by a database you own.

  • Live Collaboration Rooms

Several people edit the same diagram in a room at once, with real-time sync over WebSocket, room chat and per-room passwords available in the editor.

  • Network Topology Editing

Draw nodes for servers, routers, switches, firewalls and clouds, add boxes, text labels and free-drawn lines, and toggle physical, logical, security and application layers.

  • Racks With U Positions

Create rack nodes, open a vertical rack view with U markings and assign devices to positions with heights such as 1U, 2U or 4U.

  • Share And Export

Share a diagram by room link, or let each person save a portable copy of it as a file they can import back later.

  • An Admin Panel At /admin

Sign in as administrator to require an instance password, limit room creation and manage the instance settings.

  • One Container, Built-In SQLite

Rooms, the database and backups live in one persistent volume, with no external database to run. Redis is optional upstream and not used here.

Everything You Need To Run Your Network Diagrams 24/7

Managed hosting for The One File, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • The One File TOFV-2.0 deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • First administrator created for you
  • Kept behind xCloud nginx
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • Choose your server region
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With The One File

  • Document a network with your team

Draw servers, switches and firewalls with their IPs and roles in a shared room, so the team edits one topology together and everyone sees the same layout.

  • Plan a rack layout

Place devices in rack nodes by U position with heights and capacity indicators, so a data-centre or homelab rack is planned before anything is moved.

  • Show physical and logical views

Switch between layers for physical, logical, security and application views, and filter the view to the nodes and connections in the layers you select.

  • Record and replay a change

Record a diagram step by step and play it back, so a migration plan can be walked through in order with colleagues.

The One File vs Alternatives

Excalidraw
A virtual whiteboard for hand-drawn style diagrams with live collaboration. The One File is built around network nodes, racks and layers instead of freehand sketching.
draw.io
draw.io has its own OneClick page. It is a general-purpose diagramming tool, while The One File specialises in network topologies and runs collaboration rooms on your own server.
Rackula
Rackula has its own OneClick page. It is a rack layout designer; The One File draws racks inside a wider topology editor with layers and links.
NetBox
NetBox has its own OneClick page. It is a network source of truth for addresses and infrastructure, while The One File is a diagram editor rather than an inventory database.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar Ahmed
Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo Villa
Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How much RAM does The One File need?

The template floor is 256 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk, because it is one small container with SQLite and no Redis. The 6 GB plan is far above that and leaves room for other apps.

Can you self-host The One File with Docker?

Yes, and this template is the one file docker hosting without the setup: the TheOneFile_Verse image pinned by digest, one the_one_file_data volume, a generated administrator and encryption key and HTTPS on your own domain.

Can several people edit a diagram in The One File?

Yes. The Verse edition runs live collaboration rooms, so several people edit one diagram at once, and anyone with a room link can view and edit that room. Treat room links as shared secrets.

Is The One File open to anyone?

By default, yes: anyone who can reach the URL can create and join rooms. Sign in to the admin panel to require an instance password or restrict room creation, or add Basic Auth at your access layer.

What is the encryption key in The One File?

A generated 64-character key shown on your credentials card. It protects stored two-factor, single sign-on and mail secrets in the database. Keep a copy and never change it after install, or those secrets become unreadable.

Is The One File an alternative to draw.io?

For network diagrams, it can be. Upstream describes a tool for networks and similar planning, with racks, layers and replay, and makes no comparison with draw.io. It is not a general-purpose diagram editor.

Is The One File free?

Yes. The One File is released under the Unlicense, a public-domain dedication. Only the Cloud VPS costs money, so this The One File cloud install stores your diagrams on your own server.

How do I back up The One File?

Back up the the_one_file_data volume, which holds the SQLite database, room files and backups, and keep a copy of the encryption key with it. Test a restore before relying on the copy.

How do I upgrade The One File?

The One File stays on its pinned TOFV-2.0 image until a newer template version is adopted. Copy the data volume beforehand and check the release notes; the app serves its bundled client and does not self-update.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
