Weaviate Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy Weaviate on infrastructure you control instead of a hosted vector-search product. xCloud configures the pinned Weaviate 1.39.2 image, disables anonymous access, generates a root-role API key for you, and mounts persistent storage for every collection, object and index — in minutes. This is a data service: the API is published directly on an allocated port, with no xCloud-managed domain or TLS, so firewalling it and adding your own TLS is on you before you send credentials anywhere.

From Sign-Up to a Live Weaviate API In Just 3 Easy Steps

Self-hosting a vector database normally means a container, persistent storage, an authentication decision and a firewall policy before the first collection exists. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Weaviate from the OneClick catalog. Accept the generated 48-character admin API key, or supply your own 16–64 character key — there are no other app-specific fields.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the pinned cr.weaviate.io/semitechnologies/weaviate:1.39.2 image by immutable digest, disable anonymous access, enable API-key authentication with RBAC root access for the xcloud-admin user, mount the weaviate_data volume, and publish the REST and GraphQL API on your allocated port.

  3. Step 03

Confirm It's Live And Lock It Down

Copy the REST API URL, host, port and admin API key from your Credentials panel. Check /v1/.well-known/ready, then send the key as a Bearer token to /v1/meta. Restrict the port to trusted IPs with your firewall and add TLS or a private network before creating your first collection and object.

Everything Weaviate Does, On Your Own Server

Weaviate runs in full here — the open-source server is unmodified, and every vector, object and index sits on infrastructure you control.

  • Authenticated REST And GraphQL APIs

Vector search, object storage, schema management and RAG retrieval, all through Weaviate's own REST and GraphQL APIs — this is the unmodified open-source server.

  • Bring Your Own Vectors

No vectorizer module is bundled. Import pre-computed vectors directly, or connect a supported external vectorizer provider after deployment.

  • Collections, Objects And Schema

Create collections, define schema, and manage objects and indexes through the same API calls Weaviate's own documentation describes.

  • Persistent Vector Storage

Collections, objects, vectors, indexes, schema state and authorization data all live on the weaviate_data volume, which survives a restart.

  • API-Key And RBAC Authentication

Anonymous access is disabled from first boot. A generated API key with full RBAC root access is required on every request from day one.

  • Yours To Secure

The API is published directly on your allocated port with no xCloud-managed TLS — firewall it to trusted IPs and front it with your own TLS or private network.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is Weaviate?

Weaviate is an open-source vector database for semantic search, recommendations, embeddings and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), with authenticated REST and GraphQL APIs. This template deploys version 1.39.2.

Is Weaviate free, and what license is it under?

Yes — Weaviate is free and open source under the BSD-3-Clause license. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it, not the software itself.

Can I self-host Weaviate?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official Weaviate image pinned by immutable digest, generates a root-role admin API key, mounts a persistent volume, and publishes the REST and GraphQL API on your server in minutes instead of assembled by hand.

How do I sign in and authenticate?

There is no web login. xCloud generates a 48-character admin API key at install time (or accepts your own 16–64 character key), shown once in the Credentials panel alongside the REST API URL, host and port. Send it as a Bearer token in the Authorization header on every request — anonymous access is disabled.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The pinned Weaviate image, a generated admin API key with API-key authentication enabled, RBAC with that user set as root, the persistent weaviate_data volume, and the allocated public port. There is no separate database service to configure — Weaviate is the only container in this template.

Is the Weaviate API served over HTTPS?

No. This template is a data service: the API is published directly over plain HTTP on your allocated port, with no xCloud-managed domain or TLS certificate. Restrict the port to trusted client IPs with your firewall, and put TLS or a private network in front of it before sending credentials across an untrusted network. Never embed the root API key in browser code.

Does this template include a vectorizer?

No. DEFAULT_VECTORIZER_MODULE is set to none, so no model-provider module or provider API key is bundled. Import pre-computed vectors directly, or configure a supported external vectorizer provider yourself after deployment.

What should I back up?

The complete weaviate_data volume, as one unit. It holds every collection, object, vector, index, schema definition and piece of authorization data Weaviate knows. Stop writes or use Weaviate's own backup API for a consistent snapshot before copying volume data.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Weaviate?

No. The image is pinned by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Before changing it, review Weaviate's upstream release and migration notes, take a coordinated backup of weaviate_data, and verify authentication, collection access and object retrieval after the update.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template manifest asks for 1024 MB of RAM, one CPU core and 4 GB of disk as a floor — an eligibility minimum, not a production size. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that floor for growing collections and concurrent queries.

What survives a restart?

Everything on weaviate_data, because it is a persistent named volume. Restarting the container does not touch your collections, objects, vectors, indexes, schema or authorization data.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Weaviate?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and Weaviate has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Weaviate project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
