Fenrus Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy Fenrus hosting and give yourself one start page for every app, bookmark and self-hosted service you run. xCloud runs the pinned Fenrus 26.10 image behind an nginx Basic Auth gateway, creates the administrator account at install with a generated password, mounts a persistent volume for the embedded database and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes.

What is Fenrus?

Fenrus is a personal home page and dashboard. It gives you a custom home page or new-tab page with quick access to your personal apps, and each user gets their own dashboards of app and bookmark tiles, with search, status indicators, themes and optional notes, calendar, mail and file features.

Fenrus is a .NET application that stores its configuration in a single LiteDB file, Fenrus.db, next to an encryption key that protects sensitive data inside it. xCloud runs it from the community Docker image with that data on a persistent volume.

From Sign-Up to a Live Start Page In Just 3 Easy Steps

A Fenrus install normally means a container, a data volume, a reverse proxy, a certificate, and closing the open first-run setup page before anyone else finds it. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Fenrus from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then set the administrator username (the default is admin).

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the community Fenrus image, pinned by immutable digest, behind a small nginx gateway container that is the only published service, mount the fenrus_data volume, create the administrator account from your username and a generated password, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Build Your First Dashboard

Open your HTTPS Fenrus URL, pass the Basic Auth prompt, then sign in on Fenrus's own page with the same credentials. Create your first group and add tiles for your apps and bookmarks.

Everything Fenrus Does, On Your Own Server

Fenrus runs in full here: a personal start page on your own domain, with its data on a volume you own.

  • One Start Page For Everything

Collect your apps, bookmarks and self-hosted services as tiles on a single page, with search and status indicators.

  • Per-User Dashboards

Each user gets their own dashboards, with themes and optional notes, calendar, mail and file features.

  • Administrator Created At Install

The install creates the administrator from your chosen username and a generated password, so nobody can claim the first-run setup page.

  • Basic Auth Gateway In Front

An nginx gateway asks for the same credentials before anything loads, keeping open registration, the guest dashboard and the built-in link proxy away from the public.

  • Embedded Database

Fenrus runs as one app container with an embedded database, so there is no separate database service to look after.

  • Optional Extras

Features that reach other systems, such as SSH and Docker terminals, mail over IMAP and calendars over CalDAV, stay off until an administrator or user configures them.

Everything You Need To Run Your Start Page 24/7

Managed hosting for Fenrus, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Fenrus 26.10 deployed instantly
  • Community image pinned by digest
  • Administrator login generated for you
  • Basic Auth gateway included
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Fenrus

  • A start page for your homelab

Put every self-hosted service you run behind one page of tiles, with status indicators showing which ones are up.

  • Bookmarks that follow you

Use it as a browser home or new-tab page, so your links are on your own domain instead of tied to one browser profile.

  • Separate dashboards per person

Give each household member or teammate their own dashboards and themes, with the administrator managing the instance.

  • A protected front door for private tools

Keep a launcher for internal services behind HTTPS and a Basic Auth gateway instead of exposing it openly.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Why do I sign in twice?

The nginx gateway asks for Basic Auth first, then Fenrus shows its own sign-in. Both use the administrator credentials from the credentials card.

Why is there a Basic Auth gateway?

A fresh Fenrus is open: anyone can register, and any visitor can make the server fetch web addresses through its built-in link and image proxy. The gateway keeps that behind your credentials; without them every route returns 401.

What runs alongside Fenrus?

A small nginx gateway container and the Fenrus container. The database is embedded, so there is no separate database service.

What if I share the Basic Auth login with other people?

Turn off Allow registrations (System settings, Users) and the guest dashboard (System settings, Guest Dashboard) inside Fenrus, since anyone holding the Basic Auth login can otherwise reach them.

What happens if I change the username or password in the site environment?

Only the Basic Auth login changes after Save & Redeploy. It does not rename the Fenrus account or change its password; change that inside Fenrus. Keep the Basic Auth password to letters and digits.

Is there an upload limit?

The optional Files feature is off by default. If you enable it, uploads through the domain are limited to about 100 MB.

What should I back up?

The fenrus_data volume, as a whole. It holds the database, the generated encryption key, session key material, logs and user files, and restoring the database without the key makes stored secrets unreadable.

What survives a restart?

Dashboards, users and settings on the fenrus_data volume. In QA a created group was still listed after an xCloud Restart.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Fenrus?

No. The template pins Fenrus 26.10 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then bump the readable tag and digest together on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template's baseline asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 2 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 80 MiB, and about 296 MiB after a working round-trip. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Fenrus?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Fenrus project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Fenrus project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
