Tenzu Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Tenzu hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Tenzu, an open-source project management tool built around kanban boards with live collaboration, on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned back end and web app with private PostgreSQL and Redis, creates the first account with a generated password, keeps two volumes for data and uploads and publishes everything over HTTPS. Public sign-up is closed, and the install needs an x86-64 server.

What is Tenzu?

Tenzu is an open-source project management tool that helps project teams share knowledge and make informed decisions. It organises work into workspaces and projects with unlimited kanban boards and custom statuses, supports live collaborative editing of tickets where you see others type, and offers a dark theme and several languages. Upstream lists Scrum and issue tracking as coming, not available. A self-hosted Tenzu gives you realtime kanban boards on your own server. It is AGPLv3 licensed.

On xCloud it is Tenzu v3.1.2 with web app v3.1.0, the official images pinned by digest, with PostgreSQL and Redis kept private. The tenzu_db and tenzu_media volumes hold data and uploaded files. The first account is created from your email and a generated password, and the gateway closes public sign-up, so nobody can register on their own; invitations reach only people who already have an account. It runs on x86-64 servers only.

From Sign-Up to a Live Kanban Board In Just 3 Easy Steps

A Tenzu stack normally means an API server, a web app, a worker, PostgreSQL, Redis, a gateway, a domain and a certificate before the first story. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Tenzu from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter the email address for the first account.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the Tenzu server and web app images pinned by immutable digest, with PostgreSQL 17, Redis and a background worker kept off the public internet, mount the tenzu_db and tenzu_media volumes, generate the password and keys, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.

  3. Step 03

    Create Your First Project

Save the generated password from the protected installation credentials, wait one to two minutes for the first start, then open your HTTPS Tenzu URL and sign in. Create a workspace and a project, then add stories on the kanban board.

Everything Tenzu Does, On Your Own Server

Tenzu runs in full here: workspaces, kanban boards and live collaboration on your own domain, backed by a database you own.

  • Workspaces And Projects

Organise work into workspaces, each holding multiple project spaces.

  • Kanban With Custom Statuses

Each project gets unlimited kanban boards with statuses you define, and stories you move between them.

  • Live Collaborative Editing

See what others are typing in a ticket and other changes as they happen, over the same domain.

  • Dark Theme And Languages

Upstream ships a dark theme and a multi-language interface.

  • Closed Sign-Up By Default

Tenzu v3.1 has no setting to disable sign-up, so the template closes the sign-up endpoint at the gateway and nobody can register on their own.

  • Files On A Persistent Volume

Uploaded files and project logos live on the tenzu_media volume, and attachments are only delivered through the authenticated API.

Everything You Need To Run Your Project Board 24/7

Managed hosting for Tenzu, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Tenzu v3.1.2 deployed instantly
  • Official images pinned by digest
  • First account and passwords generated for you
  • Database and Redis kept private
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Tenzu

  • Run a team's work on kanban boards

Create a workspace and a project, add boards with your own statuses and move tickets across, so a small team sees who is doing what.

  • Edit a ticket together live

Open the same ticket as a colleague and watch their typing and changes appear as they happen, so a planning call needs no copy and paste.

  • Keep project data on your own server

Store tickets, comments and attachments in your own PostgreSQL database and media volume, rather than in a hosted project tool.

  • Control who can join

Keep sign-up closed and invite only people who already have an account, so a private project is not open to anyone who finds the address.

Hear what people are saying about us

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul Singh
So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

How much RAM does Tenzu need?

The template floor is 768 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 5 GB of disk, covering the web app, API, PostgreSQL and Redis. The 6 GB plan is well above it, and uploads and project history are what grow the disk.

Can you self-host Tenzu with Docker?

Yes, and this template is tenzu docker hosting without the setup: the back end and web app images pinned by digest, PostgreSQL and Redis, two named volumes, generated secrets and HTTPS on one domain for the app, API and WebSocket.

Does Tenzu run on ARM servers?

No. The template runs on x86-64 (amd64) servers only, so an ARM server cannot run it. Choose an x86-64 Cloud VPS when you deploy.

Can several people edit a Tenzu ticket at once?

Yes. Upstream supports live collaborative editing of tickets, where users see others' typing and changes as they happen. Tenzu serves its web app, API and WebSocket from the same domain.

Can anyone sign up to Tenzu?

No. Public sign-up is closed at the gateway, so nobody can register on their own. Sign-in and invitations to people who already have an account keep working. Without SMTP, email invitations and password reset mail are not sent.

Is Tenzu an alternative to Trello or Jira?

For kanban-style project management, yes. Upstream lists unlimited kanban boards and live editing, while Scrum and issue tracking are only planned and it publishes no comparison. You run the server and backups yourself.

Is Tenzu free?

Source code is under AGPLv3 and costs nothing to run, though no rights to the Tenzu trademarks are granted. The Cloud VPS is your only bill, giving you a Tenzu cloud install of your own.

How do I back up Tenzu?

Back up the tenzu_db volume, which holds the PostgreSQL data, and tenzu_media, which holds uploaded files, together. Keep the generated secret and signing keys, since replacing them signs everyone out.

How do I upgrade Tenzu?

Tenzu stays on its pinned back end v3.1.2 and web app v3.1.0 until a newer template version is adopted. Copy both volumes beforehand and check the release notes. Upgrades never run by themselves.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
