TimescaleDB Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy TimescaleDB hosting and store metrics, events and sensor data in PostgreSQL with hypertables, on a server you control. xCloud runs the pinned timescaledb 2.29.1-pg17-oss image, generates the database name, user and password, mounts a persistent data volume and exposes the PostgreSQL port on your server in minutes, with a ready-to-copy connection URI.

From Sign-Up to a Live Time-Series Database In Just 3 Easy Steps

A time-series database normally means a container, generated credentials, tuning, a data volume and a firewall rule before the first hypertable. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick TimescaleDB from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server. There is nothing else to fill in: xCloud generates the PostgreSQL username, password and database name.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official TimescaleDB 2.29.1 image, pinned by immutable digest, mount the timescaledb_data volume, and expose PostgreSQL on an allocated port of your server, tuned to a bounded 1 GB and 1 CPU with telemetry off.

  3. Step 03

    Connect And Create A Hypertable

Copy the PostgreSQL URI from the credentials panel, connect with psql or your application, check SELECT extversion FROM pg_extension WHERE extname = 'timescaledb'; then create a table and turn it into a hypertable with create_hypertable. Restrict the allocated port to trusted client IPs before production use.

Everything TimescaleDB Does, On Your Own Server

TimescaleDB runs in full here as the Apache 2 Edition: hypertables, time-oriented functions and everything PostgreSQL 17 already does, on a volume you own.

  • Hypertables

Partition time-series tables automatically with create_hypertable and keep querying them as ordinary PostgreSQL tables.

  • Time-Oriented Functions

Time bucketing and the other Apache 2 Edition query functions, on top of full PostgreSQL 17.

  • A Real PostgreSQL

Every driver, ORM and tool that speaks PostgreSQL works; the credentials panel hands you a ready URI.

  • Bounded Tuning

timescaledb-tune settings are bounded to 1 GB and 1 CPU instead of sizing against the whole host, and telemetry is off.

  • Apache 2 Edition Only

The -oss image excludes Timescale License features by design, so what runs here is fully open source.

  • One Data Volume

The complete PostgreSQL cluster lives on timescaledb_data.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.

I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What is TimescaleDB?

TimescaleDB is a PostgreSQL extension for time-series data; the Apache 2 Edition deployed here is the open-source build with hypertables and time-oriented query functions on PostgreSQL 17. This template deploys version 2.29.1.

Is the database reachable from the internet?

Yes, the raw PostgreSQL port is exposed on the server, which is how you connect. Restrict it to trusted client IPs with the server firewall before production use, and use PostgreSQL TLS, a VPN or an SSH tunnel across untrusted networks; the template does not configure TLS.

How do I change the password?

With SQL, using ALTER ROLE. POSTGRES_USER, POSTGRES_PASSWORD and POSTGRES_DB initialise only an empty data directory; editing them later does not rotate credentials.

Can I retune memory later?

The tuning values are applied when the data directory is initialised. Review timescaledb-tune output before adjusting PostgreSQL settings on an existing cluster.

What about the Timescale License features?

They are not here. Only the Apache 2 Edition -oss image is permitted for this template; do not substitute a Community or Enterprise image.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The pinned TimescaleDB Apache 2 Edition image on PostgreSQL 17, a generated database, user and password shown with a copyable URI, the timescaledb_data volume, bounded tuning at 1 GB and 1 CPU, telemetry off and the allocated port. This is a data service: there is no domain or HTTPS proxy, clients connect straight to the port.

What should I back up?

The timescaledb_data volume, which contains the full PostgreSQL cluster, plus logical backups with pg_dump or pg_dumpall before upgrades. PostgreSQL major-version upgrades need a supported pg_upgrade or a logical migration.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update TimescaleDB?

No. The template pins TimescaleDB 2.29.1 by immutable digest; new installations use the pinned release, existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream release notes, then update the image on your own schedule. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template manifest asks for 1 CPU core, 1 GiB of RAM and 5 GiB of disk as a floor for TimescaleDB. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that floor.

What survives a restart?

Everything on timescaledb_data, because it is persistent named volume. Restarting the container does not touch that data.

Is xCloud officially partnered with TimescaleDB?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the TimescaleDB project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source TimescaleDB project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
