Uptrace Hosting Live In 5 Minutes

Deploy Uptrace hosting and run OpenTelemetry tracing, metrics and logs on your own server. xCloud runs the pinned Uptrace 2.0.3 image with private ClickHouse 25.3.3, PostgreSQL 15 and Redis 7.4 services, generates the admin password, tokens and secret key, mounts persistent volumes for both databases and publishes the interface and OTLP/HTTP ingest over HTTPS.

What is Uptrace?

Uptrace is an open-source application performance monitoring platform built on OpenTelemetry. It stores distributed traces, metrics and logs and lets you search them, build dashboards and set alerts from one interface.

Because it speaks OpenTelemetry, any OpenTelemetry SDK or Collector can send data to it. On xCloud it runs next to its own ClickHouse, PostgreSQL and Redis services, so your telemetry stays on a server you control.

From Sign-Up to Your First Trace In 3 Easy Steps

An Uptrace stack normally means the app, ClickHouse, PostgreSQL, Redis, generated secrets, volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first span arrives. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick Uptrace from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server, then enter the admin email you will sign in with — it is the only field.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We bring up the official Uptrace image pinned by digest with private ClickHouse, PostgreSQL and Redis services that publish no host ports, mount the uptrace_clickhouse_data and uptrace_postgres_data volumes, generate the passwords, tokens and secret key, and publish the interface over HTTPS.

  3. Step 03

    Send Your First Span

Save the admin password and project DSN from the protected installation credentials, wait one to three minutes for the first boot, then sign in over HTTPS. Point an OpenTelemetry SDK or Collector at the DSN and watch the span appear under Spans.

Everything Uptrace Does, On Your Own Server

Uptrace runs in full here: an OpenTelemetry backend with its own storage, dashboards and alerting, on a domain you control.

  • Distributed Tracing

Query spans and follow requests across services, with traces, metrics and logs viewed in one interface.

  • OpenTelemetry Ingest

Accepts OTLP over HTTP through your HTTPS domain, and over gRPC on a separate plaintext port.

  • Metrics And Dashboards

Query metrics and build dashboards over the data your services send.

  • Alerting

Set alerts for spans, logs and metrics, and send notifications by email, Slack, webhooks or AlertManager once SMTP is configured.

  • Per-Project Tokens

Give each service its own project token, so teams can write telemetry without sharing admin access.

  • Private Storage Included

ClickHouse holds traces, logs and metrics, PostgreSQL holds dashboards and alert rules, and both stay on the install's private network.

Everything You Need To Run Your APM Backend 24/7

Managed hosting for Uptrace, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.

  • Uptrace 2.0.3 deployed instantly
  • Official image pinned by digest
  • Admin password and tokens generated
  • Databases kept off the public internet
  • Free SSL certificate
  • Server backups and snapshots
  • Server security updates included
  • 30+ server locations
  • Unused balance refunded

What You Can Do With Uptrace

  • Trace requests across services

Collect distributed traces over OpenTelemetry and follow a request through every service that touched it.

  • Keep telemetry on your own infrastructure

Store traces, metrics and logs on a server you control instead of sending them to a hosted APM service.

  • Build dashboards and alerts

Query spans and metrics, chart them on dashboards and be notified when spans, logs or metrics cross a rule you set.

  • Let each team write its own data

Issue a project token per service so teams can ship telemetry without receiving admin access.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!

I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.

I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.

Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍

So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.

Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

What makes Uptrace different from a hosted APM tool?

Uptrace is open source (AGPL-3.0) and built on OpenTelemetry. Your telemetry stays on your xCloud server, and you can point any OpenTelemetry SDK or Collector at it.

How do I sign in?

Use the admin email you entered at install and the generated admin password from the installation credentials. There is no public sign-up.

What runs alongside Uptrace?

ClickHouse stores telemetry, PostgreSQL stores metadata such as dashboards and alerts, and Redis caches query results. All three run privately inside the stack with no published ports.

How do I send telemetry to it?

Use the project DSN from the protected installation credentials. OTLP/HTTP goes through your HTTPS domain; OTLP gRPC uses a separate published port that is plaintext, so prefer the HTTPS endpoint over untrusted networks.

How should I handle project tokens?

Treat them as secrets: anyone with a project token can write telemetry into that project. Changing a token means updating every SDK that uses it.

Can it send alert notifications?

Yes — by email, Slack, webhooks or AlertManager, once SMTP is configured for email.

What should I back up?

Both database volumes, uptrace_clickhouse_data and uptrace_postgres_data, together, along with the stable environment values. Redis keeps no data by design.

What survives a restart?

Traces, logs, metrics, dashboards and alert rules, because both database volumes are persistent named volumes; this was confirmed after an xCloud Restart in QA.

Why do the startup logs show a duplicate-key error?

The seed step logs one on each restart; the app runs normally. If PostgreSQL restarts under Uptrace, the container may restart once and then recover.

How long is data kept?

Retention is set per project in the Uptrace UI, and ClickHouse disk use grows with ingest volume.

Does the Uptrace UI contact any outside service?

It loads user avatars from gravatar.com, so a signed-in browser sends a hash of the user's email address to that service.

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Uptrace?

No. The template pins Uptrace 2.0.3 by immutable digest; existing sites are not automatically upgraded. Back up first, read the upstream changelog, check that the ClickHouse version still meets that release's requirement, then change the readable tag and digest together. Server-level backups and snapshots are available on every Cloud VPS.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 16 GB?

The template manifest asks for 2 CPU cores, 4096 MB of RAM and 20 GB of disk; measured idle use in QA was about 360–560 MiB after telemetry was ingested. This page sells the 16 GB tier, comfortable headroom above that baseline.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Uptrace?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Uptrace project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Uptrace project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
