What is CloudBeaver?

CloudBeaver Community is a cloud database manager: a web server whose rich web interface connects to databases, released under the Apache 2 licence. Upstream describes a Java server with a web part written in TypeScript and React, and the template presents it as a browser-based manager for SQL, NoSQL and cloud databases. Self-hosted CloudBeaver is the option for teams that would otherwise install a desktop client such as DataGrip on every machine.

On xCloud the template runs dbeaver/cloudbeaver 26.1.3, pinned by digest, as one container with its embedded configuration database on the cloudbeaver_workspace volume. Local authentication is on, anonymous access is off, and the administrator is cloudbeaver_admin with a generated password. The template does not deploy a database to manage. Network access, credentials and TLS trust for the databases you connect remain yours.

What is CloudBeaver used for?

CloudBeaver is used to work with databases from a web browser. You create connections to your SQL, NoSQL or cloud databases, browse their objects in a navigator, run queries in the SQL editor and view results, without installing a desktop client. Administrators manage users, teams and who may share connections.

Is CloudBeaver free and open source?

Yes. CloudBeaver Community is open source under the Apache 2 licence, and upstream says it is free to use. The xCloud price is for the Cloud VPS and the deployment, never for the Community software.

Can you self-host CloudBeaver with Docker?

Yes. For CloudBeaver Docker hosting the template runs the dbeaver/cloudbeaver 26.1.3 image, pinned by digest, as one container with a workspace volume and HTTPS on your domain. It generates the administrator password and disables anonymous access, so you do not write a compose file or edit the server configuration.

How much RAM does CloudBeaver need?

CloudBeaver's manifest floor is 2048 MB of RAM, one core and 5 GB of disk. Concurrent users, active query sessions, downloaded database drivers and large result sets can need more. The 6 GB tier on this page leaves headroom above that floor for a small team working in the editor together.

Which databases does CloudBeaver support?

Upstream describes it as a manager for SQL, NoSQL and cloud databases through one interface, with drivers downloaded as needed. Check the upstream documentation for the exact list before you promise a particular engine. Whatever you connect to must be reachable from your xCloud server over the network.

How do I log in to CloudBeaver?

Open your HTTPS address and sign in as cloudbeaver_admin with the generated password on your credentials card. Local authentication is on and anonymous access is disabled. The generated password only initialises the account on first boot, so change it inside CloudBeaver and do not rely on editing the environment.

Does CloudBeaver include a database server?

No. CloudBeaver only manages connections; it has its own small embedded configuration database but no database for your data. Create connections to servers you already run, and use unique, least-privileged accounts, encrypted connections and a database firewall restricted to trusted sources. Database backups remain your responsibility.

How do I back up CloudBeaver?

Back up the cloudbeaver_workspace volume, which holds the server configuration, local users, saved connection metadata, projects and embedded application data. Stop CloudBeaver or use a snapshot that captures the whole volume at one moment, and restore it with the same release. The databases you connect to need their own backups.

How do I upgrade CloudBeaver?

Version 26.1.3 is fixed by digest, so catalog changes never alter a running install. Back up the workspace, read the CloudBeaver release notes and migration guidance, then select a later template version and recreate the container without deleting the volume. Open a saved connection afterwards to confirm it still works.

Is it safe to put CloudBeaver on the internet?

It holds the passwords of the databases you connect, so treat access carefully. Keep anonymous access off, review user, team and connection-sharing permissions before inviting anyone, and never expose container port 8978 directly. Consider xCloud IP management or Basic Authentication as an extra gate in front of the login page.

Can I run CloudBeaver in the cloud on xCloud?

Yes. CloudBeaver cloud use means a dedicated Cloud VPS with your domain and certificate attached. If your databases sit in a private network, make sure the VPS can reach them, for example over a VPN. A machine rented from another provider can be enrolled as self-managed.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
