Kopia hosting on xCloud gives you a self-hosted backup tool with web UI on your own domain. Deploy Kopia and xCloud runs the pinned official image as one container, protects the browser UI with a generated password, publishes it over HTTPS, and keeps its config, cache, logs, rclone settings, local repository and source folder on persistent volumes. Sign in as kopia, create or connect a repository, and add your first snapshot policy.
Self-hosted Kopia is a fast and secure open-source backup and restore tool. Upstream describes encrypted, compressed, deduplicated snapshots saved to storage you choose: Amazon S3 and compatible stores, Azure Blob, Backblaze B2, Google Cloud Storage, WebDAV, SFTP, some Rclone providers, or your own machine. It has both a command-line and a graphical interface, and it is Apache-2.0 licensed. You provision and pay for the storage yourself.
On xCloud the template runs kopia/kopia 0.23.1, pinned by digest, as one container serving the browser UI. Six volumes hold its config, cache, logs, rclone settings, a local repository and a source folder. Kopia only sees folders mounted into its container, so other apps on the server are not visible to it. The UI login is a generated password for the user kopia.
A Kopia server normally means a container, a password, several volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first snapshot. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Kopia from the OneClick catalog. Choose your domain and target server — there are no extra fields to fill in.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Kopia image, pinned by immutable digest, as a single container with HTTP basic auth and a generated password, mount the kopia_config, kopia_repository, kopia_source and kopia_rclone volumes plus rebuildable kopia_cache and kopia_logs, and publish the web interface over HTTPS.
Step 03
Save the UI password from the protected installation credentials, open your HTTPS Kopia URL and sign in as kopia. Create or connect a repository — S3, B2, SFTP, WebDAV, a cloud drive or the local /repository volume — choose a repository password, then add a snapshot policy.
Kopia runs in full here: encrypted, deduplicated snapshots managed from a browser, with storage you choose.
Manage snapshots from a browser UI instead of the command line.
Connect a repository on S3, Backblaze B2, Google Cloud Storage, Azure, SFTP, WebDAV, rclone or a local volume.
Snapshot scheduling, policies, restore and maintenance are all available.
The UI sits behind HTTP basic auth with a generated password; every path answers 401 without it.
About 8.5 MiB at idle and about 148 MiB while creating a repository and snapshot on QA.
After an xCloud Restart the repository connection, snapshots and source files all survive and the repository reconnects automatically.
Managed hosting for Kopia, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
An admin creates a snapshot policy for the folders to protect and lets Kopia run it, instead of scripting backups on the command line.
An owner points a repository at S3, Backblaze B2, SFTP, WebDAV or an rclone remote, and Kopia encrypts and deduplicates the data before it leaves.
A user browses a snapshot in the web UI and restores what was lost, after testing the restore path before they need it.
A developer puts data into the source volume and snapshots it to an off-box repository, because a repository on the same server is not a backup of that server.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. Kopia is Apache-2.0 licensed, so using it costs nothing and its code is open. You pay xCloud for the Cloud VPS and separately for whichever storage provider holds your snapshots. The template adds no paid Kopia tier.
Yes, and this template is Kopia Docker hosting without the assembly. It starts the kopia/kopia 0.23.1 image, pinned by digest, as one server container, proxies port 51515 behind HTTPS and mounts six volumes. It omits the privileged and FUSE settings upstream's example uses.
Kopia's manifest floor is 512 MB of RAM, one core and 10 GB of disk. We sell the 6 GB Cloud VPS for a Kopia cloud install, mostly as headroom. A local repository, the cache and logs use the disk, so size it to your data.
Upstream lists Amazon S3 and compatible stores, Azure Blob Storage, Backblaze B2, Google Cloud Storage, WebDAV, SFTP, some Rclone providers, and local or network storage. Rclone support is experimental. You create the repository in the web UI and choose a repository password.
Yes. Every path answers with an authorisation error until you sign in as the user kopia with the generated password from the installation credentials. Change it by editing the environment value and redeploying. The container's own port stays plain HTTP inside, with HTTPS in front.
Not by default. Kopia only sees folders mounted into its container, so other apps on the same server are not visible to it. Use the source volume for data you place there, or manage snapshots of remote sources through the server.
The template stores it in a plaintext file next to the repository configuration in the kopia_config volume, so Kopia can reopen the repository after a restart. Treat that volume and any backup of it as sensitive, and keep your own copy of the password.
Back up kopia_config for the repository connection and stored password, plus kopia_repository if you use a local repository, kopia_source for data placed there, and kopia_rclone for rclone settings. Cache and logs rebuild. A local repository does not protect against losing the server.
Your install stays on its pinned 0.23.1 version until you adopt a newer template version. Back up kopia_config and any local repository first, and read the Kopia release notes. Afterwards sign in, confirm the repository connects and run one small snapshot.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
