What is LibreDesk?

LibreDesk is an open-source helpdesk with an omnichannel inbox, so live chat and email conversations land in one place. It adds an embeddable chat widget, a help center, automations, role-based access control, CSAT surveys and SLA tracking, with an optional AI assistant and agent copilot. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted LibreDesk, an alternative to a hosted support suite such as Intercom or Zendesk, with the code under the AGPL-3.0 licence.

On xCloud it is LibreDesk v2.8.0 with PostgreSQL 17 and Redis 7, all pinned by digest. Tickets, agents and settings sit in PostgreSQL, attachments in the uploads volume and queues in Redis. There is no public sign-up. Outbound email, inboxes, single sign-on and AI providers are configured inside the app, so none of them works until you set it up, and only one domain is published.

From Sign-Up to a Live LibreDesk In Just 3 Easy Steps

A LibreDesk stack normally means the app, a PostgreSQL database, a Redis queue, generated secrets, three volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first conversation. This is the same result without assembling any of it.

  1. Step 01

Create your xCloud account and pick LibreDesk from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain and server, and set the System user password or accept the generated one.

  2. Step 02

    We Deploy It For You

One click. We start LibreDesk v2.8.0, PostgreSQL 17 and Redis 7, all pinned by digest, generate the secrets, run the database install and upgrade, mount three volumes and publish it over HTTPS. The first boot can take a couple of minutes.

  3. Step 03

    Sign In And Configure

Sign in with the email System and the login password from the credentials. Then add outbound email, inboxes, agents and any single sign-on or AI provider inside the admin area.

Everything LibreDesk Does, On Your Own Server

LibreDesk v2.8.0 runs here with its inbox, live chat and help center, on a database you own.

  • One Inbox For Email And Chat

Live chat and email land in the same inbox, whichever channel a conversation started on.

  • Live Chat Widget

Embed a chat widget on your website. Widget, help-center and CSAT pages are public by design.

  • Automations And Permissions

Rules tag, assign and route conversations on events, and role-based access control sets what agents can do.

  • CSAT And Analytics

Send satisfaction surveys when a conversation closes and track response times and resolution rates.

  • AI Is Opt-In

An AI assistant and copilot exist upstream, but providers are configured in the app and nothing is enabled until you do.

  • No Public Sign-Up

The administrator adds agents inside LibreDesk. You sign in first as the built-in System user.

See why agencies, developers, startups, and growing businesses choose xCloud to power their projects.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian Geovanny
I've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin Pineda
I'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting

xCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.

xCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar Ahmed
Trust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul Singh
So far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo Villa
Came from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson El
I've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony Lewis
I came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowell
I like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose

Dear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.

Frequently Asked Questions

Feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may have.

Can I run LibreDesk in Docker?

Yes, and this template is LibreDesk Docker hosting without the setup: the official LibreDesk v2.8.0 image with PostgreSQL 17 and Redis 7, all pinned by digest, with three named volumes, generated secrets and HTTPS on your own domain.

How much RAM does LibreDesk need?

LibreDesk wants 512 MB of memory, one core and 8 GB of storage as a floor; QA measured about 126 MB peak for the app, database and cache together. The 6 GB tier is where this page begins, with ample headroom.

How do I sign in to LibreDesk after installing?

Open your URL and sign in with the email System and the login password from the credentials. The first boot runs the database install and upgrade, so allow a couple of minutes before the page answers.

Is there public sign-up in LibreDesk?

No. Agents are added by the administrator inside LibreDesk, and admin APIs reject anonymous requests. The live chat widget, help center and CSAT pages are public by design, so only those are reachable without signing in.

How do I set up email in LibreDesk?

Email, inboxes, single sign-on and AI providers are configured inside the admin area, not in environment files. No SMTP keys ship with the template, so nothing is sent until you add outbound email there. Test a message to yourself before inviting customers.

Does LibreDesk include AI features?

Upstream offers an AI assistant and agent copilot, but you configure the provider inside the app. Nothing is enabled by default, so do not expect AI replies until you connect your own provider and knowledge base.

Is LibreDesk free?

Yes. LibreDesk is released under the AGPL-3.0 licence and carries no licence fee. Your plan covers the dedicated Cloud VPS holding tickets, agents and attachments, which makes it a LibreDesk cloud of your own. Email, chat and the help center are all part of the same install.

How do I back up LibreDesk?

Back up all three volumes together: uploads, PostgreSQL and Redis, with a pg_dump for a consistent database copy, and keep the encryption key with them. Nothing schedules the copy for you, so make it yourself and keep one in another place.

How do I upgrade LibreDesk?

The pinned v2.8.0 image keeps running until you adopt a newer template version. Because the upgrade step runs at start, copy the three volumes and the encryption key beforehand and skim the upstream release notes. Updates never arrive unprompted.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.

Ready To Run Your Own Helpdesk?

Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
