Safebucket hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Safebucket and share files and folders with clients through invitation links, on storage you own. xCloud runs the pinned Safebucket 0.7.5 image with a private RustFS bucket in the same stack, generates the administrator password, mounts persistent volumes and publishes both the app and the storage endpoint over HTTPS, as two domains in minutes.
Safebucket is an open source file sharing platform with pluggable infrastructure where, upstream says, files bypass the server. You create buckets, upload files and folders, and share them with guests through invitation links, with role-based access control, multifactor authentication, file expiration and a trash with configurable retention. Uploads and downloads go straight between the browser and storage through presigned URLs. A self-hosted Safebucket is Apache-2.0 licensed.
On xCloud the template deploys Safebucket 0.7.5 with a private RustFS bucket as its S3-compatible backend, both pinned by digest. RustFS is a pre-release build. The app database and activity logs sit on safebucket_data and the file contents on rustfs_data. It needs two HTTPS domains, runs as a single instance on SQLite, and has no mail server until you add one.
A Safebucket stack normally means the app, an S3-compatible store, a bucket with a CORS policy, generated secrets, two domains and two certificates before the first upload. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Safebucket from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain for the app and one for the Storage (S3) endpoint, then enter the administrator email.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the vendor's Safebucket image and a private RustFS bucket, pinned by immutable digest, create the bucket and its CORS policy, mount the safebucket_data and rustfs_data volumes, generate the administrator password and secrets, and publish both domains over HTTPS.
Step 03
Save the administrator password from the protected installation credentials, open your HTTPS Safebucket URL and sign in with the administrator email. Create your first bucket, upload a file and invite a guest.
Safebucket runs in full here: invitation-based file sharing on your own domain, with the files kept in a private bucket you own.
Share files and folders with guests through invitation links. Self-registration is off, so people join only when you invite them.
Files go between the browser and the storage domain through short-lived presigned URLs, in 64 MiB parts, with an upstream default limit of 50 GiB per file.
Safebucket supports multifactor authentication (TOTP). Stored two-factor secrets are encrypted with a key generated at install.
A trash with configurable retention keeps deleted files recoverable for a while, and activity logs record what happened to your shared files.
File contents live in an S3-compatible RustFS bucket in the same stack. The bucket is private: requests need signed links issued by Safebucket.
Upstream supports public share links with options such as a password, maximum downloads and maximum views, plus file expiration.
Managed hosting for Safebucket, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Invite a client to a bucket and hand over files and folders without sending them through a third-party transfer service.
Agencies and freelancers can hold shared files in a private bucket on a server they control, with activity logs showing what happened to them.
Browsers send files straight to the storage domain in 64 MiB parts, and upstream's default limit is 50 GiB per file.
With self-registration off, only people you invite get an account, and two-factor authentication adds a second step at sign-in.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. Safebucket is Apache-2.0 licensed with no seat fee from the project. You pay for the Cloud VPS that runs the app plus the RustFS store, and the disk grows with every file you share.
The manifest asks for 1 CPU core, 512 MB of RAM and 10 GB of disk, and QA saw about 245 MiB idle across the stack. Disk is what you will outgrow first, so size the 6 GB plan's storage against the files you expect.
Yes, and this template is Safebucket Docker hosting without the wiring: Safebucket 0.7.5 and a RustFS bucket pinned by digest, an aws-cli helper that creates the bucket and its CORS policy, generated secrets, two volumes and HTTPS on two domains.
Browsers upload and download directly to the private RustFS storage endpoint using short-lived signed links, so it needs its own HTTPS domain. The Storage domain must stay mapped and reachable over HTTPS, or uploads and downloads fail.
No. Self-registration is off, so users join by invitation only. Two-factor authentication adds a second sign-in step, and the administrator email and generated password are applied from the Environment editor on every start, so change them there rather than in the app.
Not until you configure a mail server. With none set, invitation and password-reset emails are written to a folder on the server. Add SMTP settings in the Environment editor to send real email, then redeploy.
The Safebucket domain is permanent, because it is embedded in invitation and share links. The Storage domain can be changed, but uploads and downloads fail until the app restarts, so change it at a quiet moment.
Back up safebucket_data, which holds the SQLite database, notifications and activity logs, and rustfs_data, which holds all file contents, plus the stable .env values. Stop the stack first for a consistent copy, and keep it off the server too.
The install stays on Safebucket 0.7.5 and its pinned RustFS build until you adopt a newer template version. Copy both volumes first, then read the upstream notes. Nothing upgrades the app on its own, and a redeploy keeps both volumes with your buckets intact.
Do not change the MFA encryption key after users enrol an authenticator, or they are locked out. Run a single instance only, because Safebucket uses SQLite and an in-memory cache here, and treat the RustFS pre-release build with care.
This page is your own Safebucket cloud: a dedicated Cloud VPS running the open-source platform and a private bucket, with files on volumes of your own. Nothing is shared with other tenants, and guests join only by invitation.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
