Deploy HabitTrove hosting and run a gamified habit tracker for yourself or your family on your own domain. xCloud starts the pinned HabitTrove v0.2.31 image behind a Caddy gateway with Basic Authentication, creates the administrator from the credentials you set, keeps data and backups on two persistent volumes and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes. HabitTrove's accounts are not a security boundary, so the gateway password matters.
HabitTrove is a gamified habit tracking application. You create habits, earn coins each time you complete one, and spend the coins on rewards from a wishlist you write yourself. It tracks completion streaks and statistics, supports several users with shared habits, and lets you draw freehand on habits and rewards. Run on your own server it is a self-hosted HabitTrove, an alternative to keeping your habits in an account on a service such as Habitica, with the code under the AGPL-3.0 licence.
On xCloud it is the dohsimpson/habittrove v0.2.31 image behind a Caddy gateway, both pinned by digest. The gateway asks for the admin credentials before anything loads, and HabitTrove then asks you to pick a user. Data sits on habittrove_data and HabitTrove's own backups on habittrove_backups. In-app users are not a security boundary, so share the gateway password only with people you trust.
A HabitTrove stack normally means the app container, a gateway to protect it, an administrator seed, two volumes, a domain and a certificate before the first habit. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick HabitTrove from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain and server, then set the admin username and a password of up to 32 characters, or accept the generated one.
Step 02
One click. We start dohsimpson/habittrove v0.2.31 and a Caddy gateway, both pinned by digest, create the administrator from your credentials, mount habittrove_data and habittrove_backups, and publish it over HTTPS.
Step 03
Answer the browser's password prompt, then choose your username in HabitTrove's Select User dialog and enter the same password. Add family with Add User, then create habits and wishlist rewards.
HabitTrove v0.2.31 runs here with its coins, rewards and streaks, behind a gateway you control.
Create daily habits with a coin reward and earn coins each time you mark one complete on the dashboard.
Add rewards to a wishlist and redeem them with the coins you have earned.
See completion streaks and statistics, with a calendar heatmap upstream describes as a work in progress.
Add family members and share habits. The accounts organise ownership but are not a security boundary.
Caddy asks for the admin username and password before HabitTrove loads, and those credentials are the real access control.
Habits and avatars live on habittrove_data and HabitTrove's own backups on habittrove_backups, so a restart keeps them.
Managed hosting for HabitTrove, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Earn coins for daily habits and redeem them for rewards you chose yourself.
Add household members and share habits, with one gateway login for the people you trust.
Keep your streaks and history on a server you control instead of a habit-app account.
Check streaks and statistics to see which habits stick.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

John ApertureI went from Cloudways to xCloud. No intention on switching in the foreseeable future.

Yes, and this template is HabitTrove Docker hosting without the setup: the dohsimpson/habittrove v0.2.31 image and a Caddy gateway, both pinned by digest, with two named volumes, a generated signing secret and HTTPS on your own domain.
The template lists 1024 MB of memory, one CPU core and 5 GB of storage as conservative estimates, because upstream publishes no minimum. The 6 GB tier is where this page starts, leaving headroom above that.
Your browser first asks for the admin username and password from the credentials. HabitTrove then shows its Select User dialog: choose that username and enter the same password to sign in as the administrator. There is no passwordless account at any point.
Yes. Use Add User in the Select User dialog to create each person, then share habits between them. Everyone still passes the same gateway, so give its password only to people you trust with all of the data.
No. HabitTrove's accounts organise who owns which habits, but anyone who passes the Basic Authentication gateway can change any account or data. The gateway credentials are the only real access control, so share them only with people you trust with everything.
Edit ADMIN_PASSWORD in the Environment editor and restart to rotate the gateway, then also change the administrator password inside HabitTrove under the profile menu, Edit profile. The gateway applies it on every start, but HabitTrove sets its own only once. Passwords are limited to 32 characters.
Yes. HabitTrove is open source under the AGPL-3.0 licence, so the software has no fee. Your only recurring cost is the dedicated Cloud VPS holding your habits and rewards. That makes it a HabitTrove cloud of your own.
Back up habittrove_data and habittrove_backups together. HabitTrove writes its own daily copies into the second volume, which is the app's feature and not an xCloud one. Nothing here schedules a server-level copy for you, so run it yourself.
The install stays on its pinned v0.2.31 image until you adopt a newer template version. Back up habittrove_data and habittrove_backups first and read the upstream release notes. Nothing is upgraded for you, and a redeploy keeps both volumes.
HabitTrove limits avatar uploads to 5 MiB. Avatars and the JSON data are stored under habittrove_data, so they travel with that volume whenever you back it up. Keep AUTH_SECRET unchanged when you edit the environment, or sessions are invalidated.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
