SparkyBudget hosting on xCloud lets you deploy SparkyBudget, a self-hosted budgeting app, to track checking, credit card and loan accounts, set monthly and recurring budgets and review spending trends with your data on your own server. xCloud runs the pinned SparkyBudget v.21 image with embedded SQLite, generates the sign-in password and session key, and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes.
SparkyBudget is a personal finance management app that tracks accounts such as checking, credit card and loan, manages budgets and analyses spending trends, according to its README. It offers a dark-themed interface, net cash monitoring and recurring budgets. Transactions can be entered by hand, imported from CSV files, or synced through an optional SimpleFin connection. A self-hosted SparkyBudget is AGPL-3.0 licensed and is not financial advice.
On xCloud the template runs the pinned SparkyBudget v.21 image, with an embedded SQLite database on the sparkybudget_data volume and no separate database. There is one built-in user, Sparky, with a generated password and no registration page. The app has no login rate limiting or two-factor sign-in, so xCloud Basic Authentication is worth adding as an extra layer.
Self-hosting SparkyBudget normally means a container, a generated password, a session key and a persistent volume before a single account is tracked. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick SparkyBudget from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain — xCloud generates the password and the session key.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned SparkyBudget v.21 image, generate the sign-in password, mount the persistent database volume, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS URL and sign in as Sparky with the generated password. Add your first account and transactions, or upload a CSV of transactions to get started faster.
SparkyBudget runs in full here — the same account, budget and trend tooling as any hosted budgeting app, on infrastructure you control.
Track accounts by type — Checking, Savings, Credit Card, Loan, Retirement, Utilities — with net cash and net worth on the home dashboard.
Set budgets by category and subcategory, including recurring budgets, and compare spending against them.
Review historical trends: income vs. expense, spending by category, and balance history over time.
Add transactions manually, import them from CSV, or connect banks through an optional SimpleFin token.
Categorise transactions automatically with editable category and payee-matching rules.
Accounts, transactions and budgets stay on a server you control, not a third-party finance account.
Managed hosting for SparkyBudget, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Record checking, credit card and loan accounts and watch net cash across them.
Create monthly and recurring budgets and see how spending compares as the month goes on.
Upload a CSV from your bank so you do not retype transactions, with no bank connection required.
Add a SimpleFin setup token in the Environment editor to pull transactions from your bank, the one feature that needs outbound internet access.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Yes. SparkyBudget is AGPL-3.0 software with nothing to buy from the project. Your cost is the Cloud VPS holding the SQLite database, and a SimpleFin bank connection, if you choose one, is a separate service with its own terms.
The manifest asks for 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk. A Flask app with SQLite needs little, so the 6 GB plan leaves most of the server free for other apps.
Yes, and this template is SparkyBudget Docker hosting without the setup: the codewithcj/sparkybudget v.21 image pinned by digest, one container with embedded SQLite, a generated password and session key, and HTTPS on your domain, with nothing else to set up.
No. You can enter transactions by hand or import CSV files. SimpleFin bank sync is optional, turned on with SIMPLEFIN_TOKEN in the Environment editor, and the claimed access URL is then cached in the data volume.
Use the username Sparky and the password xCloud generated, shown on the installation credentials page. SparkyBudget has a single built-in user and no registration page, and sign-in works over HTTPS only because the session cookie is marked Secure.
No. SparkyBudget compares the password directly and has no built-in rate limiting or two-factor sign-in. Add xCloud Basic Authentication at the access layer for an extra barrier, and use the generated password rather than a short one.
Changing FLASK_SECRET_KEY in the Environment editor signs everyone out, though your accounts, budgets and transactions are unaffected. The username and password are also read from the environment on every start, so edit them there and redeploy.
Back up the sparkybudget_data volume mounted at /private. It holds the SQLite database, the cached SimpleFin access URL if you enabled sync, and import scratch files. Nothing schedules the copy, so run it yourself and keep a copy away from the server.
The install stays on SparkyBudget v.21 until you adopt a newer template version. Copy sparkybudget_data first and read the upstream release notes. Nothing upgrades the app automatically, and the database is upgraded in a single process on start.
This page is your own SparkyBudget cloud: a dedicated Cloud VPS running the open-source app, with your financial data in a file on a volume of your own. Nobody else shares it, and SparkyBudget gives no investment or tax advice.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
