Spree Commerce hosting for teams that want to own their online store and its data. Deploy Spree Commerce 5.6.1 as a self-hosted open source ecommerce platform: xCloud runs the pinned official image with a private PostgreSQL 18 database, generates the first administrator password, database credentials and Rails signing secret, mounts persistent storage and publishes the admin and API over HTTPS.
Self-hosted Spree Commerce is an open source ecommerce platform. Its README describes an open-source headless eCommerce platform with a complete REST API, a TypeScript SDK and a separate Next.js storefront, for cross-border storefronts, B2B wholesale or a custom commerce backend, under the BSD 3-Clause licence. Merchants can choose it over a hosted store account when they want to keep ownership of the code, data and infrastructure.
On xCloud the template runs the ghcr.io/spree/spree 5.6.1 image beside a private PostgreSQL 18 database, both pinned by immutable digest, with spree_storage and spree_database volumes. xCloud generates the first administrator password, database credentials and Rails signing secret, and publishes the admin and API over HTTPS. The Next.js storefront, payments, SMTP and search are not included and are yours to add.
Self-hosting an API-first commerce platform normally means a container, a database, generated secrets, a domain and a certificate before a single product exists. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Spree Commerce from the OneClick catalog. Choose your site title, domain and target server, then enter the administrator email — xCloud generates the initial password, database credentials and signing secret automatically.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the official Spree Commerce 5.6.1 image, pinned by immutable digest, alongside a private PostgreSQL 18 Alpine service, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open the generated HTTPS administrator URL, sign in with the generated credentials from the Credentials panel, and rotate the password. Configure store identity, locale, currency, shipping, tax and a payment method before creating your first product.
Spree Commerce runs in full here — catalog, orders, customers and the API, on infrastructure you control.
Manage products, variants, pricing, inventory, customers and orders from the Spree administrator interface.
Build a storefront, mobile app, B2C, B2B or multi-channel experience of your own against Spree's API-first foundation; none is bundled here.
Set store identity, locale, currency, shipping, tax and customer-owned payment integrations after deployment.
PostgreSQL stays private with no host port; only the Spree web application is proxied over HTTPS.
Catalog, account, order, upload and application data persist across an xCloud Restart on two declared volumes.
Start from an immutable Spree release and dependency image rather than an unpinned latest tag.
Managed hosting for Spree Commerce, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Manage products, variants, pricing, inventory, customers and orders from the Spree administrator interface, with every record in a PostgreSQL database on your own Cloud VPS.
Build a storefront in the stack your team prefers and let it call Spree's REST API for the catalogue, carts and orders, with the backend under your control.
Use Spree as the commerce backend for wholesale or multi-market storefronts, as the README positions it, configuring locale, currency, shipping and tax yourself after deployment.
Stand up a real Spree install on a real domain, load a catalogue and test checkout flows, then grow the server as orders and catalogue size increase.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Spree and its PostgreSQL database start from a manifest requirement of 2 CPU cores, 2 GiB of RAM and 10 GiB of disk. The 6 GB Cloud VPS sold on this page leaves real room above that as your catalogue and order volume grow.
Yes. Spree's README says it is BSD 3-Clause licensed and that you keep ownership of your code, data and infrastructure, and the LICENSE file at the v5.6.1 tag matches. xCloud charges for the dedicated Cloud VPS, not for the software.
Yes, and this is Spree Commerce Docker hosting prepared for you: the template runs ghcr.io/spree/spree 5.6.1 beside postgres:18-alpine, both pinned by immutable digest, with spree_storage and spree_database volumes and HTTPS on your domain, so no compose file or proxy setup is yours to write.
Not in this template. Spree's README describes a headless platform with a REST API and a separate Next.js storefront project. This install runs the Spree application with its admin and API, so deploy or build your storefront separately and point it at your domain.
Yes. The README describes a complete REST API with a TypeScript SDK, which is what a custom or Next.js storefront talks to. The template adds no gateway of its own: the API is served by the Spree application on your HTTPS domain.
No. Payment providers need customer-owned accounts, credentials and business configuration, which you add inside Spree after deployment. SMTP, object storage, a CDN, error tracking and search are also yours to configure; none is bundled or preconfigured by the template.
Enter your administrator email during installation. xCloud generates the initial password and shows it once in the Credentials panel. Open /admin on your domain, sign in, then rotate the password inside Spree, since editing the environment values later does not change the account.
A backup is spree_database and spree_storage together, at an application-consistent point. A database-only copy is incomplete when local Active Storage holds uploads. Keep a verified off-server copy and test a restore in an isolated install, with the signing secret preserved.
Nothing upgrades it for you: the template pins 5.6.1 by immutable digest, and existing-site upgrades are a planned operation on your side. Copy both volumes, look through the upstream release notes, then adopt a newer template version when one is published and test.
xCloud's default proxy request-body cap is 100M, which bounds uploads passing through the reverse proxy to Spree, such as product images. Larger files need a different route, for example object storage that you configure in Spree yourself.
It is your own Spree on a dedicated Cloud VPS that xCloud provisions, not a hosted sandbox. Spree's README points to a free hosted sandbox for trying it, whereas here the private PostgreSQL database, both volumes and the administrator belong to your install.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
