Sonobarr hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Sonobarr, a self-hosted music discovery tool for Lidarr users, on your own domain. xCloud runs the pinned image behind a Caddy gateway with a generated administrator login, keeps its settings on a persistent volume and publishes it over HTTPS. You enter your own Lidarr address and API key and a Last.fm key, and Sonobarr suggests similar artists to send to Lidarr.
Sonobarr is a self-hosted music discovery tool for Lidarr users, built as a Flask and Socket.IO app with a web UI. It syncs your monitored artists from Lidarr, finds similar artists through Last.fm, can stream ListenBrainz Weekly Exploration playlists and sends the artists you pick back to Lidarr, which makes it a source of Lidarr artist recommendations. A self-hosted Sonobarr keeps that discovery under your control. The licence is MIT.
On xCloud it is Sonobarr 0.13.0, the image ghcr.io/dodelidoo-labs/sonobarr pinned by digest, behind a Caddy gateway, with settings in the sonobarr_config volume. Lidarr and Last.fm are separate services you supply, and discovery stays empty until their keys are entered. Sign-up is closed: only the administrator account exists, and the administrator creates other users.
Self-hosting Sonobarr normally means a container, a reverse proxy, a generated admin account, an API key and a domain before a single artist is discovered. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Sonobarr from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain, and optionally change the administrator username — xCloud generates the password, session secret and API key.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned Sonobarr 0.13.0 image behind a digest-pinned Caddy gateway, generate the administrator account and API key, mount the persistent volume, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS URL, sign in with the administrator account, then open Settings and enter your Lidarr address and API key plus a Last.fm API key and secret to start a discovery session.
Sonobarr runs in full here — the same discovery, request and API tooling as any hosted companion app, on infrastructure you control.
Grow your Lidarr library with artists similar to the ones you already have, sourced from Last.fm.
Send a picked artist to Lidarr with your root folder, quality and metadata profiles and monitoring options.
The administrator creates accounts; non-admins raise artist requests that an admin approves or rejects.
YouTube or iTunes previews, ListenBrainz playlists, AI-assisted discovery with any OpenAI-compatible model, and OIDC single sign-on.
A REST API protected by a generated API key, for dashboards and other tools to read discovery data.
Users, artist requests and saved settings live in a persistent volume and come back exactly as you left them.
Managed hosting for Sonobarr, so the parts that keep it online are not your problem.
Let Sonobarr read your monitored artists from Lidarr and suggest similar ones through Last.fm, so your library grows from your own taste.
Send a picked artist to Lidarr with a monitor strategy per source, so a discovery becomes a monitored artist without retyping the name.
Allow non-admin users to submit artist requests that an administrator approves or rejects, so a shared library has one gatekeeper.
Stream batches from ListenBrainz Weekly Exploration playlists and preview tracks, so discovery draws on more than one recommendation source.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

John ApertureI went from Cloudways to xCloud. No intention on switching in the foreseeable future.

Sonobarr needs only 512 MB of RAM, 1 CPU core and 2 GB of disk per its template, for a small Flask app and a Caddy gateway. The 6 GB plan is far above that. Lidarr itself runs elsewhere and is sized separately.
Use this template: it is sonobarr docker hosting without the setup. The image and the Caddy gateway are pinned by digest, the sonobarr_config volume holds settings, a generated administrator and API key are created, and HTTPS runs on your domain.
No. Sonobarr is a companion that needs a separate Lidarr server it can reach, plus the Lidarr API key, and a Last.fm API key. Neither is hosted by xCloud; enter them in Settings after you sign in.
Yes. Upstream requires a Last.fm API key and a Lidarr API key, and discovery stays empty until both are set. ListenBrainz playlists and an OpenAI-compatible AI assistant are optional extras that need their own services.
Open Settings after signing in and enter your Lidarr address and API key. Sonobarr then syncs your monitored artists and sends additions back, with a monitor strategy per source. Settings are kept in the sonobarr_config volume.
For finding new artists to add to a Lidarr library, yes. Upstream blends Last.fm insights and ListenBrainz playlists and sends picks to Lidarr. Upstream makes no comparison with Spotify.
Yes. Sonobarr is MIT licensed, so running it costs nothing in licence fees. The Cloud VPS is the one bill, making this a Sonobarr cloud install of your own, apart from your Lidarr and Last.fm accounts.
Back up the sonobarr_config volume while Sonobarr is stopped. It holds the SQLite database app.db, with users and artist requests, and settings_config.json, with the Lidarr and Last.fm keys you entered.
Sonobarr stays on its pinned 0.13.0 image until a newer template version is adopted. Copy sonobarr_config beforehand and check the release notes. No update happens automatically.
No. Sign-up is closed and only the administrator account from your install exists. The administrator creates other users in the app. The login page is public, but the UI and API sit behind the login and API key.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
