Is Docmost free?

Docmost's Open Source edition, which this template deploys, is free under the AGPL-3.0 license. Enterprise capabilities and support are separate upstream offerings not included here. What you pay xCloud for is the dedicated server it runs on and the management around it.

Can I self-host Docmost?

Yes — that is exactly what this template deploys. It brings up the official Docmost image, pinned by immutable digest, alongside private PostgreSQL 18.6 and Redis 8.10.1 sidecars, generates a stable application secret, mounts persistent volumes, and publishes it over HTTPS on your domain in minutes instead of assembled by hand.

Which Docmost edition does this deploy?

Open Source Edition only. The template does not request, generate, inject, trial or bundle an Enterprise license key. You can add your own valid key later under Docmost's own terms if you choose to.

Who becomes the workspace owner, and how do I sign in?

There is no generated owner account. Open the generated HTTPS URL after deployment and register the first account and workspace owner directly inside Docmost — that account is yours to create, not something xCloud shows you in a Credentials panel.

What does xCloud configure automatically?

The pinned Docmost image, a stable application secret (APP_SECRET), private PostgreSQL 18.6 and Redis 8.10.1 with generated credentials, persistent storage, the domain and the HTTPS route — including WebSocket support for real-time editing. Only Docmost itself is published; PostgreSQL and Redis have no host ports.

What should I back up?

docmost_storage, docmost_postgres_data and docmost_redis_data together, at an application-consistent point, along with the value of APP_SECRET. Keep a verified copy off-server and test restoration in an isolated installation.

Backups in xCloud

Does xCloud automatically back up or update Docmost?

No. The template pins Docmost 0.96.0 by immutable digest; a catalog re-sync affects new installations only. Review upstream release and upgrade guidance, preserve APP_SECRET, take a verified backup of all three volumes, and test the migration before changing Docmost, PostgreSQL or Redis.

What are the server requirements, and why does this page sell 6 GB?

The template manifest asks for 2 CPU cores, 2 GiB of RAM and 10 GB of disk as a starting requirement for Docmost. This page sells the 6 GB tier as the entry rung, with real headroom above that floor for more members, pages, uploads, diagrams and concurrent editing.

What survives a restart?

Everything on docmost_storage, docmost_postgres_data and docmost_redis_data, because all three are persistent named volumes. Restarting the container does not touch your pages, accounts, workspace configuration, uploads or cache state.

Is xCloud officially partnered with Docmost?

No. No official partnership or endorsement between xCloud and the Docmost project has been verified. This is a deployment and server-management option for the open-source Docmost project.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
