Deploy YT-DLP Web Player on xCloud and get YT-DLP Web Player hosting for your own yt-dlp-powered video player and downloader on your domain. xCloud runs the pinned image behind a password gateway, generates the login password, keeps the media cache on a persistent volume and publishes it over HTTPS in minutes. Paste a URL or type a search query, then watch or download content you are allowed to use.
YT-DLP Web Player is an internet video player powered by yt-dlp. A self-hosted YT-DLP Web Player lets you paste a video URL, type a search query or auto-paste from the clipboard and watch in a minimal player with no ads, with livestream support, download and repeat options, a PWA and a browser extension. Upstream updates yt-dlp daily so new sites and codecs work quickly. It is licensed under GPL-2.0.
On xCloud the install runs v1.2.0 of the upstream image, pinned by digest, behind an nginx gateway and a small Apache authentication service, because the app has no accounts of its own. The ytdlp_data volume holds downloaded media and process state, which works as a cache: media inactive for an hour is removed by default. Only sites supported by yt-dlp work, and some block datacenter addresses.
Self-hosting a yt-dlp player normally means a container, a password gateway, a domain and a certificate before you can watch anything. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick YT-DLP Web Player from the OneClick catalog. Choose a domain — xCloud generates the password.
Step 02
One click. We bring up the pinned YT-DLP Web Player 1.2.0 image behind its authentication gateway, mount the persistent media volume, and publish it over HTTPS on your domain.
Step 03
Open the HTTPS URL, sign in at the browser login prompt with the username xcloud and the generated password from your installation credentials, then paste a video URL or search query.
YT-DLP Web Player runs in full here — the same playback and download tooling as any self-hosted install, on infrastructure you control.
Watch videos from sites that yt-dlp supports in a minimal player with no ads or autoplay. Paste a URL or type a search query.
Download a video or extract its audio directly from the same page you watched it on.
yt-dlp updates itself daily inside the app, so new site changes are picked up quickly.
Install it as a PWA on a phone and use "share with YT-DLP Player" to open links. A browser extension can replace embedded videos.
Set SponsorBlock segment skipping, playlist support, quality limits and transcoding in the environment settings.
The cached media volume survives an xCloud restart or redeploy, until the cache expiry you configure removes it.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Yes, and this template is YT-DLP Web Player Docker hosting without the setup: the pinned matszwe02/ytdlp_web_player v1.2.0 image behind an nginx gateway and an Apache auth service, one data volume, a generated password and HTTPS on your domain.
The template asks for 2048 MB of RAM, 2 CPU cores and 10 GB of disk as a floor. These are template thresholds, not upstream guarantees, and concurrent downloads or transcoding need more, so the 6 GB plan is the entry rung.
No. The app has no login of its own, so this deployment puts a password-protected gateway in front of the whole interface and API. Everyone who knows the password shares the same player and cache.
Open your domain and enter the username xcloud and the generated 32-character password from the installation credentials at the browser's login prompt. The gateway protects every URL, including API requests, so nothing is reachable without it.
No. The player works as a cache: media inactive for longer than MAX_VIDEO_AGE, one hour by default, is removed automatically. The volume survives restarts and redeploys until that expiry removes the media, so raise the value if you want to keep files.
Change AUTH_PASSWORD in the environment settings and redeploy. The gateway rebuilds its password file every time it starts, so the new password applies straight away and the old one stops working; tell anyone who uses the player.
Yes. Upstream lists a PWA, so you can install it on a phone and use the share action to open links in the player. A browser extension is also listed for replacing embedded videos with the player.
Back up the ytdlp_data volume only if you want to keep cached media between cleanups, and raise MAX_VIDEO_AGE to keep it longer. There is nothing else to restore except your environment values and the generated password.
v1.2.0 remains pinned until you take a newer template version, although yt-dlp updates daily inside the app. Read the project's notes beforehand. Catalog updates reach new installs only, so an existing site keeps its pinned image until you decide, and the cache volume survives a redeploy.
Keep the login private. Any signed-in user can make the player fetch arbitrary URLs, and the cookie endpoint accepts cookie data, so treat the password like an administrator credential. Use it only for content you may lawfully watch or download.
The software is open source under GPL-2.0, so it has no licence fee, and YT-DLP Web Player cloud hosting here means your own instance on a Cloud VPS that xCloud prepares. You pay for that server and for the disk its cache uses.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Connect your first server in minutes. No plan you have to grow into.
