Palmr hosting on xCloud lets you deploy Palmr, a self-hosted file transfer service, with password-protected share links, reverse shares and team accounts, and files kept on a server you control. xCloud runs the pinned Palmr v3.3.2-beta image behind HTTPS with bundled storage, so no bucket is needed. Upstream labels this line beta and not recommended for production, so keep regular backups.
Palmr is an open-source file transfer service; upstream calls it a flexible alternative to services like WeTransfer, SendGB, Send Anywhere and Files.fm. You share files through links that can carry a password, receive files from others through reverse shares, and organise them in folders under user accounts. It is built on Fastify, SQLite and Next.js, with filesystem storage and optional S3-compatible storage. Self-hosted Palmr is licensed Apache-2.0, and the v3.3.2 line is labelled beta.
On xCloud the template runs Palmr v3.3.2-beta as the official image pinned by digest, with an nginx gateway serving the app and signed storage links over HTTPS. Files, SQLite and metadata sit on the palmr_data volume. No admin password is generated: the first account registered at /login becomes the administrator, so register before anyone else reaches the site.
Self-hosting file sharing usually means a web app, object storage, a domain and a certificate before the first upload. This is the same result without assembling any of it.
Step 01
Create your xCloud account and pick Palmr from the OneClick catalog. Select a domain — there are no other fields, because storage works out of the box.
Step 02
One click. We bring up Palmr v3.3.2-beta from its image pinned by immutable digest, attach the palmr_data volume and publish it over HTTPS on your domain. First boot takes about two minutes.
Step 03
Open your HTTPS Palmr URL at /login straight away and register. The first account to register becomes the administrator, so do this before anyone else finds the site.
Palmr's sharing workflow, running on a server you control — with the files staying there too.
Send files through links you control, with an optional password on each one.
Let others upload files to you through a reverse share, without needing an account.
User accounts and folder organisation keep team files sorted in one place.
Files live on your own server in Palmr's S3-compatible storage. No external bucket is required.
Uploads and downloads use signed links served over your site's HTTPS domain.
The database, settings and stored files persist in the palmr_data volume across restarts.
Managed hosting for Palmr, so the server, HTTPS and deployment are handled for you.
Share a link with an optional password so a client can download a large file straight from your server.
Create a reverse share so a customer or colleague can upload files to you without having an account.
Create user accounts and folders so project files are organised and shared from a single server you run.
Store uploads in the palmr_data volume, or point Palmr at your own S3-compatible bucket later.

xCloud works really well, I am surprised by its performance being this the release version, I have tried many paid platforms such as runcloud, cloudpages or serveravatar, as well as free platforms such as CyberPanel, CloudPanel or Hestia Control Panel and direct competitors such as SpinupWP and FlyWP. Of all those that I have tried, the platform that works best for WordPress is SpinupWP and I believe that xCloud can reach and surpass that development, its roadmap is promising. Congratulations to the xCloud team, I hope they become the leading platform in the segment, it has all the potential to achieve it!
Brian GeovannyI've been with runcloud for the last 3 years. However, after trying xcloud for the last month, I'm switching over. They are on a roll with their setup.
Kevin PinedaI'm moving my servers to xCloud, a cloud control panel by M Asif Rahman and the WPDeveloper team. Their roadmap looks interesting and no, there are no team mates nor API limits with xCloud! #xCloud #wordpress #hosting
Leo KooHow Cloud Nine Web Elevated Client Experience While Streamlining Hosting Operations using xCloud
Ed EllinghamxCloud is like having an expert server team on call — without the big agency costs. It's given me back my time and given my clients peace of mind. Highly recommended for freelancers and small teams who want reliable performance and security.
Dumitru ButucelxCloud isn't just a solution. It's like one of that friend who got your back when you screw things up pretty bad.
Waqar AhmedTrust me when I say, once people explore the potential of xCloud they gonna switch from other panels, just keep delivering the best tech, lots of love for the team 😍😍
Rahul SinghSo far my experience has been smooth like silk. I didn't imagine that configuring and managing a VPS would be so easy. As of today, I have deployed 8 sites. The support is good, and they treat users with respect, even if they ask stupid questions (myself included). For the future, I hope for greater flexibility in scheduled backups and more comprehensive and consistent documentation. I'm sure that within a few months, xCloud will become the leader in its segment. This community is amazing, and the Staff here is super helpful.
Massimo VillaCame from cloudways then to runcloud then to xcloud. Looks like I'm staying here.
Gerson ElI've recently taken all of my Vultr-hosted sites and gotten rid of cPanel for them to substitute it with xCloud. I have to say, I'm really impressed with xCloud so far! The interface is definitely the standout feature for me.
Tony LewisI came from Cloudways and won't go back. Highly impressed with xCloud. Glad I gave them a chance.
Jared McDowellI like xCloud better than RunCloud, but one thing I'll point out is that some years ago RunCloud was hungry for business, the support was outstanding, and the community was active and helped each other. Maybe it was sold, there was a change in management, or they stopped being hungry, but the quality of the RunCloud offering declined and it hasn't been moving forward quickly. My point is that currently the xCloud team has the edge and it is theirs to keep or lose
David McCanHow Kevin Heinrichs Cut Hosting Costs by 84% While Running WooCommerce & Node.js Sites Efficiently
Kevin HeinrichsI had 150 sites on cloudways and am in the process of moving them to xcloud. Much faster and better priced.
Dan SpinozaDear xCloud Team, I have been using xCloud for some time now and am genuinely impressed with its capabilities and the flexibility it offers by allowing users to bring their own VPS for management. It's a fantastic service, and my experience so far has been very positive. Successful migrated 5 sites on a single server. Xcloud migration tool worked great. There were few hiccups with security plugin like MalCare but disabling the plugin prior to migration worked just fine.
Rahil MaknojiaCame from runcloud. Tried xcloud and never came back.

Gary MoodyxCloud gave me what no other hosting platform could: the flexibility of a VPS with the convenience of managed WordPress. As a solo founder running an entire business on one server, that combination is an important unfair advantage.
Jorge de los Reyes MartínezI use Server Avatar and xCloud and I'll sooner use xCloud than Server Avatar personally.

Not by upstream's own words: the v3.3.2 line is labelled beta and not recommended for production. Review the release notes before relying on it for client files, and keep regular backups of palmr_data. This template pins that exact beta release.
Yes. Upstream describes Palmr as an alternative to file transfer services such as WeTransfer, SendGB, Send Anywhere and Files.fm. The difference is that files stay on your server and you set the passwords and accounts.
Yes. Palmr is open source under the Apache License 2.0, so the software has no licence fee. You pay xCloud for the dedicated Cloud VPS and the disk the stored files occupy, which is the cost that grows with use.
The manifest asks for 1 CPU core, 1024 MB of RAM and 5 GB of disk, with the gateway, app and bundled storage listener sharing one install. The 6 GB plan leaves room for large uploads, and disk is what you will outgrow first.
Yes, and this template is Palmr Docker hosting without the wiring: the kyantech/palmr v3.3.2-beta image pinned by digest, an nginx gateway for signed storage links, the palmr_data volume and HTTPS on your domain. No bucket is needed to start.
Yes, later. Set ENABLE_S3=true and the S3 endpoint, keys, bucket and region values in the Environment editor, then Save & Redeploy. Existing files are not copied between bundled and external storage, so plan any move yourself.
Open your HTTPS Palmr URL at /login straight after the first boot, which takes about two minutes, and register. The first account becomes the administrator, and anyone who reaches /login first could take that role.
Back up the palmr_data volume, which holds the SQLite database, app metadata and the bundled file storage, with the app stopped so SQLite is consistent. If you switch to external S3, back up the bucket as well.
The install stays on v3.3.2-beta until you adopt a newer template version. Back up palmr_data first and read the upstream release notes, because beta releases can change behaviour. Nothing upgrades the app automatically, so the timing is yours.
This page is your own Palmr cloud: a dedicated Cloud VPS running the open-source service, with files and accounts on a volume you control. You, not a platform operator, decide who gets an account and which links stay live.
Yes. There is no lock-in — cancel any time. Hosting is billed monthly and charged for what you actually use, so when you delete the server the unused balance is refunded to your account, less up to 10% in payment-processing fees.
Deploy in a few minutes and cancel any time.
