How To Solve Site Security PRO Powered By Patchstack Failing to Connect

Site Security PRO powered by Patchstack is a powerful security solution for WordPress websites. However, in some cases, Patchstack may fail to connect with your site, especially when Cloudflare or strict firewall rules are involved. This guide explains the common issues you may face and how to solve the Patchstack Failing to Connect error.

How to Fix Patchstack Failing to Connect Error While Using xCloud #

xCloud is fully compatible with Patchstack. But certain Cloudflare and firewall settings can block Patchstackโ€™s servers and cause connection failures. Below are the most common issues and their solutions.

Cloudflare Blocking Patchstack #

Patchstack relies on US-based servers. If Cloudflare blocks these servers, Patchstack will fail and usually return a 403 error.

Cause #

Cloudflareโ€™s security settings or โ€œUnder Attack Modeโ€ may treat Patchstack requests as suspicious.

Solution #

  • Ensure โ€œUnder Attack Modeโ€ is disabled in your Cloudflare dashboard.
  • Check Cloudflare Firewall Rules and confirm they are not blocking API requests from Patchstack.
  • If you are using Cloudflare bot protection, reduce strictness or whitelist the IPs.

Country Blocking Preventing Connection #

If you have country-based blocking enabled (Firewall, Plugin, or Cloudflare), and the USA is blocked, Patchstack cannot connect.

Cause #

Patchstack uses US locations to communicate with your site. Blocking the US = Patchstack cannot reach your site.

Solution #

  • Disable US blocking, or
  • Add Patchstack server IPs to the allowlist.

Whitelist Patchstack IP Addresses #

Some firewalls block external service IPs by default. If this happens, Patchstack cannot verify or scan your site.

Cause #

Your server, Cloudflare, or plugin firewall blocks Patchstackโ€™s IP ranges.

Solution #

Read this official Patchstack documentation for Whitelist all IP addresses listed, and after whitelisting, Patchstack should connect normally.

Domain Already Added to Another Patchstack Account #

If the domain was previously added to another Patchstack account, the connection may fail.

Cause #

  • The same domain cannot be active under multiple Patchstack accounts.
  • The domain may still be linked to an old Patchstack setup from another hosting provider or service.

Solution #

  • Log in to the old Patchstack account and remove the domain completely.
  • After removal, try connecting the site again from xCloud.

Patchstack Plugin Already Installed on the Site #

If the Patchstack plugin was previously installed manually or by another service, it can conflict with xCloudโ€™s integration.

Cause #

  • Duplicate Patchstack installations cause verification conflicts.
  • Existing plugin configuration interferes with xCloud-managed Patchstack setup.

Solution #

  • Remove or deactivate the existing Patchstack plugin from your WordPress site.
  • Then reconnect Site Security PRO from the xCloud dashboard.

That is how easily you can solve the Patchstack Failing to Connect error in xCloud while using Site Security PRO.
