How to Deploy Statamic with xCloud

You can deploy Statamic from xCloud’s One Click Apps catalog without installing PHP, Composer, or Statamic manually. This guide walks through selecting Statamic, choosing a compatible Docker + NGINX server, configuring a Demo Site or live domain, and starting provisioning. xCloud deploys the Statamic application with persistent storage, a stable application key, HTTPS routing, and the first administrator account.

Prerequisites

  • An active xCloud account with permission to create sites.
  • Either a compatible Docker + NGINX server or permission to provision a new one.
  • For an existing server, the current Statamic wizard recommends at least 4 GB RAM, 1 vCPU, and 5 GB disk.
  • A domain with DNS access if you plan to choose Go Live.
  • An email address for the first Statamic administrator account.

Step 1: Select Statamic from One Click Apps

From the xCloud dashboard, click New Site. Open One Click Apps, find Statamic, and select it.

Step 2: Choose where Statamic will run

Pick one of the available deployment paths:

  • Deploy on a new server — use dedicated resources provisioned and configured by xCloud.
  • Select an existing server — choose an eligible server that uses Docker + NGINX and has enough available capacity.

Step 3: Enter the site details and choose a domain mode

Enter a descriptive Site Title. You can also add optional tags to organize the site in xCloud.

Then choose a domain mode:

Domain mode Use it when What you provide
Demo Site You want to build and review Statamic before connecting a public domain. A temporary subdomain under x-cloud.app.
Go Live Your production domain is ready and you can update its DNS. Your public domain and the DNS configuration xCloud requests.

Select Demo Site for a first deployment, so you can verify the Statamic control panel before touching public DNS.

Step 4: Complete the Statamic settings and start provisioning

For a Demo Site, enter a unique subdomain. Enter the Administrator email that xCloud should associate with the first Statamic administrator account.

Review the values, then click Next to submit the deployment.

Step 5: Wait for Statamic to become available

Open the new site from Sites and monitor its status. Do not change the domain or delete the site while initial provisioning is running.

Once provisioning finishes, open the Demo Site or live domain over HTTPS.

Step 6: Sign in to the Statamic control panel

Open /cp on the deployed site, for example https://your-domain.example/cp, and sign in with the administrator account created during provisioning.

After signing in:

  1. Confirm the control panel opens without an application error.
  2. Update the administrator profile if needed.
  3. Store the generated credentials in a password manager.
  4. Create and save a test entry to confirm persistent content storage works.

Verify the deployment

Confirm all of the following:

  • The xCloud site status no longer shows provisioning or failed.
  • The selected Demo Site or live domain opens over HTTPS.
  • /cp accepts the generated administrator account.
  • You can create and save a test entry.
  • The entry remains available after reloading the control panel.

Frequently asked questions

What server do I need to deploy Statamic with xCloud?
